One Nation, Under God

Malta Chamber of Commerce News for week of February 24, 2016

One of the reasons the Chamber is so proud to serve this community is how much you all give back! I have three exceptional examples for you. This week, the Chamber led volunteers at the Districts basketball tournament. It’s a pleasure to be able to be a part of these events and promote our area. By volunteering, not only do you get to see some fast-paced basketball, but you get the chance to visit with people outside of our area, who continue to be impressed with all we have to offer, from shopping to restaurants and services, we are so fortunate! We will also be volunteering at this week’s Divisionals, and if you would like to help out, just let us know at [email protected] or 654-1776.

This community also gives back in the way we support and want to see Malta and Phillips County thrive. About 20 people recently attended training, hosted by the Montana Office of Tourism and Commerce. We were able to see how Malta and Phillips County fit within the larger Montana state brand and what tools are available to us. From that training we are already working on updating our listings with visistmt.com, as well as our new maltachamber.com website (go check it out!), adjusting out social medial presence (be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram) and determining how we showcase all we have to offer. It was so exciting to see the energy and commitment we have to our area!

Finally, we were fortunate to receive a $2500 grant and planning services from Triangle Communications, Connected Community Challenge. For the past month, a committee of about 10 residents met several times to discuss; our technology advantages, any technology roadblocks, and what we can do to meet those challenges, both with our grant money and beyond. Plans will be finalized at the next meeting, on Feb. 29 at 6:30 p.m. at the Library meeting room. We are excited to then let you all know our ideas and new benefits for our community!

See you all this weekend on the court!
