Betty Rose Kaufman

Betty Rose Kaufman, 83, passed away May 6, 2016. She was born June 16, 1932 in Malta, Montana to Bill and Verna Doney. Betty married Rex Kaufman on January 4, 1950 in Wibaux, MT. They spent their life together in Malta raising their four children. She worked various jobs and ran her own business from home until she was 80.

She always put her family first and loved them unconditionally. She supported all of her children and grandchildren, attending their football games, baseball games, rodeos, and basketball games. She loved being surrounded by family and felt lucky to enjoy her great grandchildren, especially at holidays. Betty was always at the table for pinochle or poker, and she usually won all the money! She looked forward to hosting her fall hunters each year and joined her family on countless hunting trips. She loved music and dancing or just socializing with her friends downtown.

Betty adored her community and always had a smile and time for conversation. She had a wonderful way of making anyone feel like family.

She will be missed dearly by her many friends and her four children Kit Kaufman (Jeri Baumgartner), Kenny Kaufman (Elaine), Cindy Hofeldt (Tom), and Vance Kaufman (Estela), 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and her sister Wilma Brewington. She is preceded in death by her husband Rex, sister Carol Lagerstead, and granddaughter Kelsey Kaufman.

Services will be held later this summer in Malta, MT.
