One Nation, Under God

Loring NEws for the week of November 2, 2016

10-26. Hey, all! This is mostly about Dixie Stordahl's trip to Arizona! I had a flight with Allegient which I love because it is a straight flight with no layovers. But this time it was late by about two hours. My brother Scott met me at the Mesa airport and drove me to his home, where a delicious dinner was waiting, thanks to Roxanne, my sister in law!

Scott and I took in the meteorite museum at the ASU campus which is awesome! Not a large museum, but very well done and informative! Then on to the OdySea Aquarium. Again wonderful displays and not too crowded even for a Saturday! Two auditoriums for movies and my best part...the African Penguin display!

I was contacted by an old elementary friend who just happened to be in AZ and we met for lunch of Mahi mahi tacos. Delicious and a bit out of my comfort zone but really enjoyed visiting with Fran Compton!

I was treated to a mani/pedi by Roxanne Cowan and then on to a cocktail party with an eclectic group of Scott's friends! So fun!

Also the plane was delayed two hours on the return flight so had some reading time at the airport! Got to Billings, met with a couple of the grands, and drove home on Monday!

But wait we also had Loring Woman's Club at Gale Simonson's on Wednesday evening and, some of us had parent teacher conferences on Tuesday evening! Life goes on. Always exciting!

11-2. Happy Halloween! And a wet one it is! I hope that everyone is safe and sound!

The Lumsden girls were home over the weekend. Carmen and Matt Norville, Ellie and Aubrie, from Whitehall, Jonnae Slade and Kellan, of Billings joined Whitney and Jay Blunt and family and Pete and Carol Lumsden. They had a great time hiking and visiting with John and Ruth Flansaas.

The calves are being conditioned and readied for shipping. The Mommas are going to be bawling their heads off for a few days. I always have mixed feelings at this time of year, I know that the calves have to be sold, but I feel bad that they will miss their momma.

The North Country Mavericks Jamboree boys and girls and the Junior high boys and girls all won their games against Dodson, Frazer and Luster this past weekend. Congrats all around!

The NC Lady Mavs volleyball also took second in the district tournament. Good luck at Divisionals in Sidney now!

Matt and Heather Simonson traveled to Eureka to watch Trace and the Mustangs play in the playoffs. Wish the outcome would have been different, but we’ll see about next year!

Many hunters are seen around the county. The fog on Saturday may have hindered them and now the rain!

Hope you have a great week!
