One Nation, Under God

Black Friday, extra hours and more

After your turkey dinners, sleep in and don’t brave the crowds. Instead of fighting over an item, walk into your favorite Malta shop and enjoy a Home Town Black Friday. Check out gifts for everyone on your list and then stop for breakfast or lunch or maybe a latte. But the fun and shopping doesn’t end there. All weekend there are things to do in Malta!

If you can’t make Black Friday, come into town Saturday and the beginning of our Capture that Holiday Moment weekend. On Saturday, stop into the Art Spot and see the newest goods from some of our home-based vendors (think LuLaRoe, Younique, Tupperware and JBloom Jewelery). You just have to have a free family snapshot taken at either Promises, if you would like a religious scene; or the Phillips County Museum, if you prefer an old-fashioned Christmas. Stop by between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. for your snap. Pick them up Monday Night from Valley Drug.

On Sunday, some of our shops will be open extended hours, be sure to check with your merchant to see their hours. If they aren’t open on Sunday, they will likely be open on Monday night for our first Late Night Opening. If you are looking to do some shopping but need help with your little ones, the Boys and Girls Club (BGC) has you covered. On Monday from 6 p.m.-8 p.m., drop off your kiddos at the BGC while Santa’s Workshop is open. Kids can play reindeer games, decorate cookies in Mrs. Claus’ kitchen or make a special Christmas craft, all while you get some of that holiday shopping done. Suggested donation is $5.

Oh – and don’t forget that the Phillips County Museum’s Festival of Trees is going on. If you can’t make the December 1 festival, stop by and bid early on your favorite trees, wreaths and homemade goods.

Whew! Who says there’s nothing to do here!
