One Nation, Under God

Loring News for February 15, 2017

As the full moon shone on the Milk River Valley Saturday night, the North Country Mavericks and Lady Mavs won the last regular season games against Frazer! Now on to District Tournament play this weekend!

The Malta/Whitewater Mustang wrestlers finished their season at state this weekend! Congrats to Trey Simanton on his 3rd place! Also congrats to Luke Lawless for his season! The team did very well!

Dixie Stordahl volunteered at the HLRC to put up bulletin boards to brighten the hall ways! It is always so uplifting while I'm there.

The Loring Woman’s Club celebrated Valentine’s Day with a special dinner at the Loring Hall! First course, appetizers by Taylor Hellie and Cindy Clark, deviled eggs and cheese log with crackers. Second course, tossed salad by Heather Simonson. Third, Carol Lumsden's clam chowder or Brenda Clark's chicken noodle soup. Fourth, Kenny Clark's buns, prime rib, Mexican wild caught shrimp, Amy Simonson's twice baked potatoes, Connie Wasson's cheesy beans. Final course, Whitney Lumsden's chocolate turtle cheese cake and Dixie Stordahl's almond cupcake with raspberry filling topped with a buttercream swirl, embellished with Belgium chocolate twigs, and a chocolate heart and double dipped chocolate strawberries on the side. Everything was delicious! The hall was decorated in a valentines theme and old time country music quietly played in the background. Fifteen people were in attendance.

Loring Lutheran Church held their first service in the Hall on Sunday. Orvin delivered the message.

Dixie Stordahl did something she has never done before! She went to town and played bingo at the Tin Cup on Sunday! She didn't win, this time!

Keep watching the sky while it is clear! The Big Dipper is almost standing on End and Orion is prominent in the southern sky! Saw another Eagle on my way to town today!
