Eva May Robinson

MALTA- Eva May Robinson 88, passed away on March 3, 2017 at the Hi-Line Retirement Center of natural causes.

Memorial services were 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, at the Kirkwood Memorial Chapel. A reception followed at the Hi-Line Retirement Center. Interment of her cremated remains will be at a later date. Condolences for the family may be left at http://www.kirkwoodfuneralhome.com.

In the early morning hours of March 3, Eva passed quietly into the arms of the Lord with her daughter, Diana, by her side.

Eva was born on April 24, 1928 in Pasadena, Calif., to Norman I & Marion (Duerr) Gifford. She was raised in Pasadena where she developed a passion for animals, especially horses, and her love of singing which lasted her entire life. She graduated from Downey High School in 1946 and the attended Pasadena Junior College. During her time at college, she had an opportunity to pursue her singing career with a group overseas but she declined the offer.

November 4, 1950 she married Don Robinson in Pasadena. They met when they were both working at Eaton's Dude Ranch in Wolf, Wyo. They moved back to the Miles City area where Don worked on the family ranch and then for Bob Hardy until the Robinson Brothers bought the ranch at Zortman in 1958. Eva worked on the ranch, raising horses and sheep along with taking care of whatever stray animals came along. She was very involved with the 4-H program and also hauled all four of her children to many rodeos and horseshows over the years. Eva lived at the Hi-Line Retirement Center from 2012 until her death.

Survivors include children, Don (Toni) Robinson of Columbia Falls, Diana Robinson of Zortman, Brian Robinson of Zortman, Barb (Kevin) Wiebe of Malta and daughter-in-law Terri Robinson of Malta; eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; Greg and Julie (Savannah, Emma and Chrissy) Robinson of Fallon, Nev., Dylan and Jeniffer (Breelynn and Sean) Robinson of Lewiston, Idaho, Kate and Grant (Claire and Stella) Zeutenhorst of Hagermon, Idaho, Andrew and Jeni (Tristan) Short of New York City, Jessica and Nikita (Jackson, Caroline) Nelson of Malta, Christian Robinson of Zortman and Kalen and Brett Wiebe of Malta; numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews, along with many friends gathered throughout her life.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Marion; brother, Robert and husband, Don.
