Thomas Webster "Boomer" Hasler

Thomas Webster "Boomer" Hasler, 82, died peacefully on June 11, 2017 in Fort Benton following a brief illness. Tom said he "wanted to be cremated and his ashes spread – but not over water cuz he couldn't swim!" A celebration of Tom's life will take place later. Tom was born May 28, 1935 in Whitetail, Mont., to John and Bernice (Wiltfong) Hasler. Tom was a retired business owner and long-time resident of Chouteau County. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who loved to entertain with his story telling of days gone by, he also enjoyed golf, gardening, darts, and anything rodeo.

He attended school in South Wagner and went on to graduate in 1966 from Barber College in Spokane, Wash. He married Marjorie Hoover and had two sons. Dean Thomas and Ross Kevin. He and Marjorie were later divorced. He then married Connie Lea Hanson and together they had David Scott Hasler.

In Tom's early years, he worked in the oil fields and for the City of Malta among other jobs. Tom was also a skilled Bronc rider. From 1969 Tom ran the Palace Barbershop before purchasing the Palace Bar in 1990 from Margaret McKay. He sold the bar and retired in 2014.

A lifetime member of the Signal Point Golf Course, Tom was instrumental in installing the underground sprinkler system.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John, and Bernice Hasler, and his son Dean Hasler. Three sisters: Agnes, Nita, and Ada and two brothers; John and Bud.

Tom was respected and admired by all who knew him. He leaves behind his loving wife Connie of Fort Benton; sons: Ross (Johanna) of Malta; David (Tami) of Fort Benton and a brother Floyd (Ann) of Lewistown. Grandchildren: Kevin, Lance, Alicia, Bradley, and Bailey. Great grandchildren; Zoey, Josiah, and Knox. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
