Family Matters, Todd's Tech couple for After Hours event

On Thursday, July 13, the latest in fashion and technology will collide as two locally owned businesses will be featured together for a Malta Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event.

Family Matters and Todd's Technology, formerly known as Radio Shack will partner for their second annual showcase together in which both merchants will feature sales throughout the entirety of their inventory.

"We are doing 10 to 20 percent off storewide from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.," Eric Wilke, owner of Todd's Technology said.

Todd's will also have a signup to win a $30 gift certificate.

"Come check out the specials with Triangle Mobile and Dish Network," Wilke said. "Triangle has $200 off of some Android Phones and all of their Apple iPhones."

Avery Sorensen, manager of Family Matters shared details of their sale that will take place that evening.

"Between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. we are doing 20 percent storewide but that also includes anything that is already marked," Sorensen said. "A lot of the store is marked at 30 percent off, so that means those things will be half off."

Certain items in Family Matters are marked at 50 percent off, giving customers a chance of saving up to 70 percent off during those two hours.

"You get to add that 20 percent on top of anything that's marked in the store," Sorensen said. "We have never done that before, not on clearance racks."

Sorenson went on to say that it gives customers a chance to get a jump on back to school clothing as well as fall fashions.

One of their latest additions to the store is a clothing brand that showcases the state of Montana. But if you are interested, you may have to rush to Family Matters and check it out as soon as possible.

"One of the newer themed lines that we have are Montana pride lines that are also locally made in Montana," Sorensen said. "The T-shirts, the caps, the cups, mugs and things like that have been a huge hit and it has actually been hard for us to keep it stocked because it's so popular right now."

Family Matters introduced a major brand at last year's edition of Business After Hours and it has also been a major hit.

"Of course, we have got the Under Armour and that has just taken off," Sorensen said. "We kind of showcased it last year and it's just been a huge hit. Between men's, women's and kid's it has been a huge asset to our community, actually having the athletic leisure wear."

The Under Armour brand was brought in due to its popularity.

"You walk into Scheels and the first thing you see is Under Armour," Sorensen said. "We have been super lucky to uphold (Under Armour)."

Sorenson mentioned that the store will be bringing back a popular brand that the store hasn't had in a while.

"It doesn't really apply to Business After Hours but going forward into the fall, we are bringing the Karen Hart brand back."
