P.C. Sheriff's Report for July 27, 2017

July 1, 2017

1:03 a.m. Deputy received a report of a possible altercation behind a local business; all found to be okay and situation had dispersed upon Deputy arrival.

1:36 a.m. Male reported a Hit & Run to a vehicle; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.

1:49 a.m. 911 received requesting an ambulance for a juvenile with a nose bleed and was throwing up blood at a Dodson residence; Deputy and local EMT Crew responded to the call; patient transported to the PC Hospital.

8:50 a.m. Female reported theft of property from a Landusky residence; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.

4:00 p.m. Male requested assistance with possible carbon dioxide leak at a Saco residence; Saco Ambulance and Fire Dept responded to the call; leak located and repaired; occupants of residence were okay.

6:14 p.m. Male reported a male hitchhiker on Hwy 191 south of Malta; Deputy responded to the call; found to be a driver of a disabled vehicle; Deputy transported male to a local residence.

8:18 p.m. Local MHP Trooper responded to a vehicle accident south of Havre.

8:51 p.m. Male brought in a found set of keys.

9:51 p.m. Male reported individuals lightning fireworks at a local residence; Deputy responded to the call; individuals located and given a verbal warning to stop or they would be cited.

10:05 p.m. Several more calls received about individuals lighting fireworks around Malta; individuals located and all given verbal warnings.

10:05 p.m. Female reported a vehicle dragging something causing sparks on Hwy 2, west of Dodson; information passed onto Ft Belknap LE.

11:00 p.m. Deputy closed and locked a door left open on a local business.

July 2, 2017

2:36 a.m. Deputy performed security checks around the Malta area.

9:39 a.m. Female reported neighbor’s dogs barking all the time; Deputy handled the call.

10:14 a.m. PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up from the airport, transport to the hospital and back to the airport with their patient; local EMT Crew handled the call.

3:37 p.m. Male requested law enforcement assistance with a situation involving a tenant and the landlord; Undersheriff handled the call.

4:18 p.m. 911 received reporting a private vehicle transport of a male involved in an ATV accident in the Zortman area and requested an ambulance to meet the vehicle; local EMT Crew responded to the call; vehicle located and patient transported to the PC Hospital.

7:52 p.m. Male reported fireworks going off near his residence; Deputy and Reserve Deputy responded to the call; individual located and given a verbal warning.

8:02 p.m. Female reported individuals trespassing at a local residence; Deputy and Reserve Deputy responded to the call; no one located at the residence.

10:28 p.m. 911 received reporting a one vehicle rollover north of Whitewater on Forks Road; minor injuries to 3 occupants, 4th occupant was unconscious and not breathing; Deputy, Reserve Deputy, Border Patrol Agents, local EMT Crews and MHP Trooper responded to the call; coroner case file started.

11:01 p.m. Female reported a dispute between family members at a neighboring campsite at Nelson Reservoir; caller later reported the situation had dissolved.

11:11 p.m. 911 received reporting a vehicle deer accident between Grass Range and the Missouri River; call transferred to Fergus Co SO.

July 3, 2017

2:58 a.m. Male reported a tractor fire east of Malta; Malta Fire Dept responded to the call; fire later controlled and extinguished.

4:06 a.m. Female reported a male standing on the corner of 2nd St/2nd Ave W “throwing beer bottles”; Deputy responded to the call; no individuals located in the area, just broken bottles.

10:42 a.m. Male reported a lost cell phone.

10:43 a.m. MT Child Abuse Hotline requested PCSO assistance with a report they received; Undersheriff handled the call.

11:27 a.m. Female reported an erratic driver on Hwy 191 south of Malta; Undersheriff responded to the call; vehicle not located.

4:23 p.m. Male requested extra patrol around a local residence.

4:31 p.m. Female reported a fire in Alder Gulch, behind Zortman and requested BLM Fire be advised; Zortman FD, BLM Fire Crews, DNRC, local EMT Crew, Sheriff, Deputy and Reserve Deputies responded to the call; fire monitored and eventually controlled.

5:12 p.m. BLM Fire Dispatch requested law enforcement assistance with an evacuation effort of the Zortman community due to the July fire.

6:28 p.m. Fire Monitoring System reported a smoke alarm sounding at a local business; all found to be okay, someone had burned some toast.

6:42 p.m. Male reported trespassers to his Malta residence; Deputy responded to the call; individuals located and advised to vacate the premises immediately or citations would be issued.

7:01 p.m. Malta FD put on standby for the July Fire in Zortman.

7:25 p.m. Female requested a welfare check on a female who wasn’t answering the phone at a Zortman residence; caller advised of the evacuation due to the fire and that was probably why she wasn’t answering.

8:35 p.m. Malta FD advised to stand down for the night.

10:43 p.m. Male filed a complaint about a trailer filled with “bawling calves”; Deputy handled the call.

11:39 p.m. Several calls received reporting a vehicle speeding and driving recklessly near the State Park at Nelson Reservoir; Deputy responded to the call; vehicle located, was parked and driver advised if it moves again tonight citations would be issued.

July 4, 2017

12:08 a.m. 911 received reporting a vehicle/deer accident near a local motel; Deputy responded to the call; deer located and humanely euthanized.

3:46 a.m. 911 received requesting an ambulance for an elderly male who was unresponsive; Deputy and local EMT Crew responded to the call; patient transported to the PC Hospital.

5:34 a.m. Sheriff reported to the July Fire incident command center in Zortman.

Several calls received requesting updates on the July Fire near Zortman.

8:11 a.m. Due to the July Fire, all Zortman festivities have been canceled; information passed onto KMMR.

Several calls received asking if fireworks have been banned in Malta and the County and also if there would still be a fireworks show tonight; all callers advised no ban at this time.

1:26 p.m. Female reported individuals lighting fireworks in front of her house and would like them removed from the area; Undersheriff handled the call.

4:04 p.m. Valley Co SO received a report of a possible fire in the Fourchette Bay area; PCSO Dispatch called the reporting party for more information and confirmed it was smoke from the July Fire in Zortman.

5:10 p.m. Reserve Deputies responded to the July Fire to patrol the area and give assistance as needed.

8:43 p.m. Malta FD reported to Trafton Park for the 4th of July Fireworks presentation.

9:09 p.m. Male reported a missing dog.

Several calls received asking when the fireworks start; all callers advised when it gets dark.

9:28 p.m. Local Ambulance reported to Trafton Park for the 4th of July Fireworks presentation.

9:41 p.m. Red Flag Warning in effect from noon to 9pm Wednesday; low humidity and gusty winds are possible.

9:47 p.m. 911 received reporting two females walking on Hwy 2, on the Saco flats; Deputy responded to the call; no individuals found walking on Hwy 2 between the Sleeping Buffalo turnoff and Saco.

10:21 p.m. Male reported individuals lighting “Chinese lanterns” and sparks flying every direction; Deputies responded to the call; no fires located in any direction.

10:55 p.m. Male reported a grass fire near the Ready Mix plant; local Fire Dept responded to the call; fire controlled and extinguished.

1:58 p.m. Several calls received reporting individuals still lighting fireworks around Malta; Deputy responded to the call; several individuals located and advised to shut it down for the night.

July 5, 2017

3:35 a.m. Red Flag Warning in effect from noon to 9pm tonight.

5:34 a.m. Sheriff reported to the July Fire incident command center in Zortman.

9:33 a.m. Male requested law enforcement assistance with getting property back from a landlord; Undersheriff responded to the call; caller advised the situation was civil and needed to contact Justice of the Peace.

2:26 p.m. 911 received requesting an ambulance for a possible stroke in the downtown area; Undersheriff and local EMT Crew responded to the call; patient later transported by personal vehicle to the PC Hospital.

6:11 p.m. Deputy reported to the July Fire location for security and to advise Landusky residents of a possible evacuation.

7:13 p.m. Male reported a male walking on Hwy 2, east of Dodson; Deputies responded to the call; male found to be okay, just trying to get to Glasgow.

July 6, 2017

2:00 a.m. Male reported a transient on Hwy 2; Deputy responded to the call; male located, found to be okay, was just trying to get to Chinook.

5:24 a.m. Sheriff reported to the July Fire incident command center in Zortman.

8:49 a.m. PC Sheriff advised of a mandatory evacuation of Landusky due to the July Fire.

10:57 a.m. Local business requested assistance with a male hitchhiker; Deputy handled the call.

11:04 a.m. Malta Fire Dept reported to the July Fire Incident Command to assist with the fire.

12:16 p.m. Female reported a possible fraud; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.

1:22 p.m. Female reported a dog in distress near a local business; Deputy responded to the call; dog found to be in a running vehicle with the air conditioning on.

2:29 p.m. PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up from the airport, transport to the hospital and back to the airport with their patient; local EMT Crew responded to the call.

2:33 p.m. Local MHP Trooper reported to the July Fire location to assist with the evacuation of Landusky and serve as security.

5:08 p.m. Deputy reported to the July Fire location to assist as needed and to serve as security.

5:52 p.m. Local MHP Trooper requested PCSO assistance with locating a sober driver for a vehicle leaving the Landusky area; family member located and responded to the location.

5:53 p.m. Significant Weather Advisory for most of Phillips Co, to include the Zortman/Landusky area, until 7pm; frequent cloud to ground lightning & 50mph gusts are possible.

6:06 p.m. PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up from the airport, transport to the hospital and back to the airport with their patient; local EMT Crew responded to the call.

6:28 p.m. Local Ambulance reported to the July Fire for the duration of the fire.

7:29 p.m. PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up from the airport, transport to the hospital and back to the airport with their patient; local EMT Crew responded to the call.

8:19 p.m. Female reported juveniles on 4wheelers in the Dodson area not wearing helmets; Deputy handled the call.

8:41 p.m. Female reported an injured baby deer on their roadway; Deputy responded to the call; deer humanely euthanized.

11:55 p.m. Female reported kids with fireworks near a local residence; Deputy responded to the call; individuals advised to stop or citations would be issued.

July 8, 2017

3:07 a.m. Heat Advisory remains in effect from 9am to 6pm tonight for most of Phillips Co.

4:00 a.m. Red Flag Warning remains in effect from noon to midnight tonight.

5:05 a.m. Sheriff reported to the July Fire incident command center in Zortman.

9:51 a.m. Local business reported a vehicle parked in front of their building for an extend-ed amount of time; Deputy responded to the call; owner located and advised to move the vehicle.

10:24 a.m. Red Flag Warning remains in effect from noon to midnight tonight.

11:43 a.m. Malta Fire Dept returned back to Malta from the July Fire scene.

2:36 p.m. Red Flag Warning remains in effect until midnight tonight.

2:39 p.m. Heat Advisory remains in effect until 6pm tonight; Heat Advisory in effect from 11am-6pm Sunday.

5:42 p.m. Heat Advisory remains in effect from 11am to 6pm Sunday; Heat Advisory will expire at 6pm tonight.

7:08 p.m. Male reported a dog tied to a vehicle near the PC Hospital; Deputy responded to the call; dog located, had water and was okay; dog and vehicle gone upon Deputy check-ing for the dog again.

9:14 p.m. Male reported 4wheelers around Saco “shooting something at people and houses”; Deputy responded to the call; 4wheelers located and were parked.

9:41 p.m. Male requested law enforcement assistance with locating a possibly missing juvenile; Deputies responded to the call; juvenile later located and returned to residence.

10:29 p.m. Red Flag Warning is canceled.

July 9, 2017

12:28 a.m. Deputy received a report of vehicles possibly drag racing on the Wagner Hwy; Deputies responded to the call; no vehicles located and burnouts located near bridges.

2:06 a.m. Deputies performed a security check on a building with a window left open; all found to be okay; window shut and building secured.

3:13 a.m. Heat Advisory remains in effect from 11am to 6pm tonight for most of Phillips Co.

5:52 a.m. Heat Advisory now in effect until 9pm tonight for most of Phillips Co.

12:09 p.m. Female reported a female walking down a residential street and then got into a vehicle that stopped; caller advised it seemed suspicious; information passed onto Under-sheriff.

5:50 p.m. Undersheriff transported one adult male, Michael Torrez, from Valley Co Detention Center to PCSO for District Court appearance the next day.

5:53 p.m. Heat Advisory now in effect until 9pm.

7:01 p.m. Reserve Deputies reported to the July Fire location for security.

7:36 p.m. 911 received reporting a traffic accident on 3rd St/3rd Ave E; no injuries to the occupants; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.

7:42 p.m. Deputy requested a tow truck for a vehicle involved in the above accident; local rotational wrecker service responded to the call.

8:36 p.m. Heat Advisory is cancelled.

July 10, 2017

3:50 a.m. Female reported two dogs running loose on the west side of Malta.

3:54 a.m. Red Flag Warning in effect from noon to 11pm tonight.

4:57 a.m. Sheriff reported to the July Fire incident command center in Zortman.

9:24 a.m. Deputy performed a welfare check on two individuals in a disabled vehicle in the Landusky area; local rotational wrecker responded to the call.

11:25 a.m. Male reported finding property he thought may have been stolen; Deputy responded to the call; owner located and property returned; information added to existing case file.

12:21 p.m. Male reported a possible fire south of the Sleeping Buffalo; Saco Fire Dept responded to the call; found to be residual smoke from the July Fire.

12:59 p.m. Female reported damage to business property; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.
