Dirt Daubers continue first-day floral tradition

Malta Dirt Daubers Garden Club members spent last Tuesday cutting flowers of their own and from Norma Kelly's and Michelle Rock's gardens.

At Dr. Mike Veseth's carport they were busy filling almost sixty vases with fresh cut flowers.

The first table was for the water filled vases and flower insertion, the next table was for adding flora and fluff, and the final table held the finished products.

Twenty-six floral arrangements were delivered to the Malta Elementary School and thirty to the Malta Middle and High School. Teachers and staff had the fresh flowers for their arrival on the first day of school.

"Not only teachers but the staff receive flowers including; guidance councilors, secretaries, and librarians," stated host Rosemary Veseth. "All to make their first day of school happy and colorful."

Through some research done by members and memory the group figured the garden club has been delivering first day of school floral arrangements every year for over twenty years.
