One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News & Opinion for February 14, 2018

Sympathy to all who have had frozen water inside and out.

Happy Valentine’s Day to all!

Goodbye, good luck, and come back to visit Nancy LaBrie. She sold her house in Whitewater and bought the “Closet” store.

Mark Lageson bought her house so welcome to him.

Basketball season is coming to a close with tournaments upcoming in Glasgow. Good luck to all the teams. It is not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game! When I was at Whitewater High School, we lost many games, but we always won in sportsmanship trophies! When I went to WHS (back in the stone age, haha) we girls did not and could not play against other schools. We just played intermural among ourselves. We could only play half court, even among ourselves. Times have changed and girls basketball is the same as the boys and just as important.

There are many jet airplanes going over Whitewater lately. Recently, on a road to Loring, we saw a huge cross in the sky created by jets! It was awesome.

Happy birthday to Ree Simonson and JoAnne Hammond, both of Whitewater. Also, happy birthday to Jan Kirkwood of Malta and all February birthdays.

It is so cold out. Stay warm.

Helena A.
