Young scientists shine at Malta Elementary fair

The hours, days and most likely in many instances, weeks that went into creating science projects paid off at Malta Elementary School last Wednesday as the public was asked to come and see the hard work and watch the students get recognized for it.

Thank you for attending, supporting and encouraging the Malta Elementary School Science Fair. These students have put a lot of hard work into their projects and your support helps. We have a variety of projects this year as we do every year," Malta Elementary School's Principal Bridgett Ereaux said. "The judges had many wonderful comments about the individuality and quality of this year's projects. They enjoyed listening to the student's presentations."

A total of 43 science projects were produced this year, ranging from a sea shell collection in kindergarten (Robin Hickel) to Mathew Hunter's Wolf Tracking project which proved that biologist can predict where a wolf may be at certain times of year through studying plotted data.

Judging took place on Wednesday, a day before the exhnit was opened to the public, and several of the school's fifth graders were to be asked if they would like their projects to continue on to the regional science fair to be held in Havre.
