Robert Alan Voise was born July 5, 1955, to Marjorie Gardipee Voise and Robert Henry Voise at Havre, Mont. He attended school in Chinook, Mont., graduating in 1973. Later, after time in the Navy, he entered college receiving an associate’s degree in welding.

Bob and his best friend, J.D. Lux, joined the Navy together. While spending time on the USS Midway he designed a carrier for the jet engine batteries. The Navy liked it so much they bought the pattern for $75 and used it, at that time, on all their ships. Bob saw many ports of call during his four years in the Navy. At Bob’s end of the tour, his family was anxiously waiting for him at the bus stop in Chinook. Not recognizing her own son, Bob’s mom admired a handsome young man standing there. It was her son, he just wasn’t in uniform - she expected to see him in his Navy attire. Additionally, Bob spent an additional stint in the Malta National Guard and the Air National Guard in Great Falls.

Bob moved to Chester, Mont., to work at the Liberty Mfg. Factory there, building farm implement parts. He soon made foreman and then night foreman when the factory started running full bore. It was there he met Tammy Thackeray. They were married May 12, 1984.

In the fall of 1985, they moved to Dodson to learn the school bus business, later buying the business from his father-in-law. Bob was a tease - he always greeted the kids with either a treat or something smart to say. The many children on the bus routes became his children. He made sure his busses were in good running order so student's parents would know their children were safe. Bob was proud of this fact. He worked 32 years in the bus service, with 22 of those years as the owner. In all his miles of travel, Bob never had a ticket from patrolmen.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Robert H. Voise, sisters: Diane Voise and Sandy Voise Whiticare, brother, Richard Voise, brother-in-law, Steve Krsul, and niece, Angel Hitchcock. He was also preceded in death by his beloved in-laws, Fred and Gladys Thackeray and sister-in-law, Jacay (Thackeray) Carey.

Bob is survived by his wife of 34 years, Tammy Voise in Dodson, Mont., parents Marjorie and Melvin Seaman, brother Duane Voise, sisters Janet Voise, and Sheryl (Jim) Waldridge all of St. Ignatius, Mont .; sisters Beverly Brown of Harlem, Kathy (Shawn) Cartwright of Lincoln, Neb., and brother-in-law Donald Carey of Cut Bank. He is survived by 14 nieces and nephews, 29 great nieces and nephews, and three great-great nieces and nephews, all on the Voise side. He is also survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Darryll and Sharon Thackeray of Havre. In addition, he is survived by his and Tammy’s nieces Susan Schmele of Chinook and Monica Thackeray of Great Falls, great nephews Jackson and Gavin Schmele also of Chinook, along with many bus riders and close friends, all who loved, teased, and respected“Uncle Bob."
