One Nation, Under God

Loring News for March 28, 2018

Happy Easter, everyone! May all the colored eggs you find be hard boiled! Maybe the snow will be gone so the eggs can be hidden outside...nah! If the eggs aren't colored, they may be hard to find. Loring Lutheran Church will have a pot luck breakfast from 8-9 followed by church service on Easter Sunday!

Richene Boschee heard a meadowlark on Sunday! I can't wait until I hear one! Jeanie Green saw one a while back so I know they'll soon be singing around here! It is really strange to see the gophers playing on top of the white snow! The geese have landed on their way north. Some will stay and some will continue on!

Sympathy to the Lumsden family on the death of Pete's brother, Ray. Pete and Carol traveled to California for his memorial service this weekend. Matt and Carmen Norville and girls were out from Malta to help calving at the farm.

The sixth through seniors of Whitewater took a ski day on Friday! The day looked almost perfect! Carol Lumsden hosted the Loring Woman's Club on Wednesday. Whitney Blunt, Connie Wasson,

Cindy Clark, Brenda Clark, Heather Simonson, Carol Lumsden and Dixie Stordahl were in attendance. We decided not to host the card party this year. We discussed rejuvenating the Chicken Feed, helping with the gopher hunt, and fixing the hall floor.

Congratulations to Luke Lawless for earning second place in the Best of the West technology video challenge sponsored by Triangle Telephone. He won a cash prize!

The baby calves hardly have a dry place to lay. The ranchers are busy putting out straw and watching the mamas to insure that they don't have trouble.

I received a special message from a former student! Cade Murdock, who joined the Army and is now full-time National Guard in Boise, is getting a promotion! His job is Information Technology Team Chief, in charge of teaching 4200 guardsmen in Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Nevada, about keeping the tactical and commercial systems up to date. Congratulations to him!

Get well wishes to Jim Murdock who is fighting pneumonia in Malta. That's all I have for now! Keep your eyes peeled for signs of spring!
