One Nation, Under God

Loring News for May 9, 2018

I'm pretty sure that spring is here, at least, for the moment. The temps are in the 70's, the sun is out, not much wind, birds are twittering, ducks and geese are swimming and honking...yes, I think spring is sprung!

My brother Scott flew up from Arizona to visit and get a farm fix! We drove to Whitewater on Friday so he could see my classroom before I retire. I showed him the stained glass windows at the church because he does some stained glass. He really liked them. Then Lu Besel suggested a drink at the North 40 so we had a short visit there. Tom had made dinner for us when we got back. On Saturday we traveled across Chapman to Turner, spent some time at the cemetery looking at the graves. I blew bubbles! Miles Hutton was there and we were able to visit for a few minutes! He's running for Blaine County Commissioner! Good luck! We had lunch at the bar and it was fun that Keith Cowan was able to join us!

We spent some time in Malta, touring the skate park, and the cemetery where grandma and grandpa Stubblefield are buried along with the Ulrichs. On Sunday, Scott came out to Loring for breakfast and to say goodbye. He detoured to Zortman and met up with the relatives in Billings before boarding the plane for home.

Just a little aside...it's the first time that the wind did not blow like a wild banshee when we've been to the Turner Cemetery! No kite flying this time!

The farmers are definitely in the field while the weather cooperates! The huge equipment can cover a few acres in a day!

The Whitewater track team hosted a meet at Whitewater on Thursday! It was a beautiful day. My name was drawn at the swim team fundraiser in Malta and I won $100! Can you believe it? Several ladies from this area attended the spring Mother's Day style show sponsored by the Phillips County Historical Society and Family Matters, at the G N.

The yellow bells are out finally along with the crocuses! Yea!
