Stanley E. Hanson

Stanley E. Hanson, 80, of Helena, formerly of Malta, Mont., passed away May 30, 2018.

He was born September 23, 1937, to Earl and Agnes (McFarland) Hanson at Baker, Mont. Stanley attended and graduated from Malta High School. He married Gwendolyn Hoge in 1959, and they lived in many places before settling in Helena. They built their home in Birdseye, raised four kids, many animals and were friends to many.

Stanley proudly served in the United States Navy being honorably discharged in 1958. He enjoyed restoring and repurposing antiques. He loved dealing with the public and reading Western books. He was a salesman at heart.

He was preceded in death by his wife Gwen in 2012. He is survived by his children Dennie (Curt) Barnekoff, Havre, Mont .; Kent (Desiree) Hanson; Robert (Karleen) Hanson, and Corey (Sheri), all of Helena Mont. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Derrick (Ashley) Barnekoff, Masha Barnekoff, Whitney (Luke) Barnekoff Mc Kinley, Alyssa (Mike) Tappe, Cody Hanson, Jackie (Mikol) Felber, Katie (Alex) Jardon, Chris Hanson, Leroy Hanson, Kenney Hanson and nine great grandchildren.
