Happy National Ice Cream Month! I actually had a small cone Sunday to celebrate Ice Cream Day!

The Bike the US for MS bikers reached Malta right on schedule Sunday, July 15! They are biking from Bar Harbor, Maine, to Seattle, Washington, to raise money for MS research. I will be keeping track of them on their blog!

Many Loring residents attended the funeral of Jim Murdock on Saturday. It's a sad occasion, but nice to see so many friends and neighbors gathered to send him off. I noticed that Helen, the Whitewater reporter, was in attendance too.

The crop tour was in Loring this week. A delicious dinner was served at the Loring Park. I picked up my Bountiful Basket this week in Malta. In the basket were potatoes, broccoli,m onions, eggplant, apples, kiwi, mango, tomatoes, cantaloupe, and a melonade, and peaches!

I hit the road to Whitewater on Thursday to visit with Lu Besel. We had lunch at the North 40. Then I saw Lynn Hill's car at the school, so I stopped to visit with her. It is really dry over in the Whitewater area also. We all could use a drink from the heavens, please!

I saw a tiger swallowtail butterfly this week! They are so yellow and large! Keep your eyes peeled for signs of nature! FYI the moon is now waxing to full in two weeks! Oh yeah, the flycatchers have fledged and are on their own!ed 100 so if you'd like to receive one, check out the site at bountifulbaskets.org .
