One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News and Opinion for July 25, 2018

Again, sympathy to families of Jim Murdock who funeral was July. Jim was taken to the cemetery by horse and wagon, a real tribute. Most Whitewater residents attended the funeral.

Sympathy to Lu Bessel and family on the loss of her sister, Anna Fay (Seaford) Simms of Billings.

It is horseracing time in Great Falls, Mont. Good luck to the Doneys, Allerys, and others who are racing horses there. The Whitewater fans, Marlene and Wanda Doney as well as Fred Allery, are going to see some of their families horse race! Good luck to them.

A big “hello” to Billie Starkey and family. It was nice of you, Bill, to buy me breakfast at the café recently.

Well, I went to Billing, Mont., this week and had a wonderful visit with my sister, Janet Brown. We went swimming (I sat in the hot pool) at the Yellowstone Health Resort. Janet does water aerobics there. It was fun except for coffee at the swim center cost $2.60 and up! I am a coffee drinker (addict) but I think the high price would make me quit caffeine altogether.

The Sears store in Billings is going out of business. It is sad, as Sears is such an old company. There was always a Sears catalog in the mail when I was growing up, but I have not seen one lately. Maybe part of the reason Sears and other companies go out of business is that many people shop online. (I don’t have the internet.)

There will be a basketball camp at Whitewater School next week. Call the school for more information.

Congratulations to KMMR on their 38 years of broadcasting in this county.

It is 90 degrees above here in Whitewater. Drink plenty of water.
