Gianforte announces Congressional App Challenge for Montana students

Montana Congressman Greg Gianforte today invited high school and middle school students in Montana to participate in the 2018 Congressional App Challenge, a nationwide computer software application challenge hosted by Members of Congress.

“The Congressional App Challenge is an opportunity for Montana’s talented young programmers to showcase their ideas and abilities,” said Gianforte. “The challenge reflects the spirit of innovation that fuels America’s free-market economy. I look forward to seeing what Montana’s young tech experts create.”

The 2018 Congressional App Challenge is open to all high school and middle school students in Montana. Students can enter as individuals or as a team of up to four members. Entries must be received by 10 a.m., Monday, October 15, 2018.

To enter, visit Gianforte’s website at https://gianforte.house.gov/AppChallenge. Only one submission per individual or team is allowed. Winners will be announced in November.

The winning individual or team from each state will have their app displayed in the U.S. Capitol and featured on the U.S. House of Representative’s website. The winner will also receive $250 in Amazon Web Service credits from the Internet Education Foundation, which can be used for Amazon digital services.

Each fall, members of the U.S. House of Representatives host the Congressional App Challenge to recognize and encourage technological innovation and skill. Visit Gianforte’s website to learn more at https://gianforte.house.gov.
