Carolyn was born to George and Evelyn Habeger on December 29, 1924, in Havre. When she graduated from high school, she worked for F. A. Buttrey until she married William “Bill” Marquardt on June 30, 1946. She was a stay-at-home mom for about 13 years until she returned to work at Zach’s Hardware, where she remained for a number of years. She then moved on to work at the Hill County Treasurer’s office.

Carolyn was a member of the Eagles’ Auxiliary 166 since the early 60’s. She served as Auxiliary President and spent many years on the drill team, as well as sewing formals for the women’s ritual team. Decorations for the club for most occasions were done by Carolyn and her friends. In 1970, Bill and Carolyn built their beloved cabin in the Bears Paw Mountains, where many years of enjoyment were had with family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, reading, card games, and crosswords; and she and her family were charter members of Messiah Lutheran Church.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband Bill; parents, George and Evelyn Habeger; sisters Mary Jane (Glenn) Morgan, Ernestine (Gayle) Tuck, and Laura Lee (Fred) Frederick; and brother John (Ruth) Habeger.

She is survived by her daughters Marilyn (Clyde) Sargent and Pamela Marquardt; son Mike (Darcy) Marquardt; grandchildren, Mindy (Lonnie) Hove, Mason (Tina) Marquardt, Christian Marquardt, and Elise Marquardt; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; brother Richard Habeger; and numerous nieces and nephews.
