One Nation, Under God

Malta Mason/OES News for October 3, 2018

September was a busy month for the Malta Sacajawea Chapter #37 Order of Eastern Star. Bessie Mae Waters was honored on her birthday, September 8, with cards, gifts and a visit from five members. Mrs. Waters is our oldest (102) and longest (70+) continuous member in the chapter.

That same day Russ and Sarah Osmundson attended the 100th Anniversary of Riverview #80 in Hinsdale. A tea party complete with cake and finger sandwiches and a treasure trove of memorabilia were enjoyed.

Our first meeting was held on September 10th followed by another on the 24th in preparation for the joint Official Visitation in Hinsdale held on Friday 28th. We were honored by being hosts to the Grand Worthy Matron Barb Rinke and Grand Worthy Patron Jerry Williams OES of

Montana. WGM Rinke is a member of Kathryn C. Johnson Chapter #132 and visits us from Hot Springs, Mont. WGP Williams is a dual member of Jephthah Chapter #116 of Worden and Billings Friendship Chapter #124.

New to our Hi-Line unit #6 this year is the Yellowstone Chapter #5 of Glendive and we welcome them along with our standing chapters; Northern Star #23 of Chinook and Havre #30. Doc Curtis with Brent and Mary Waters of Sacajawea #37 also assisted Chinook with their Official Visit on Saturday the 29th.

Montana has an active Hi-Line OES even though they are very spread out. WGM Rinke and WGP Williams recognized Sacajawea #37 and Riverview #80 for our due diligence in keeping meetings and our fundraising and donations made locally to both Phillips and Valley Counties.
