One Nation, Under God

Loring News for January 9, 2019

Greetings in the new year. I'm sure that 2019 will bring wonderful things to you! Right now with the government shut down I'm nervous about the future. But we Americans will pull through.

The wind really blew this whole week! We were lucky though because in some places in Montana it was higher than 102 mph! I say 40 mph gusts are hard enough! One saving thing, the temps were warm even the lows were in the twenties! That's amazing for this time of year!

The Loring Community extends sympathy to the Wasson family on the death of Aggie Erickson, Connie's mother. Several Loringites attended the funeral in Saco.

I did have communication with several old friends this week. Lorna (O'Rourke) Knudsen and Donna Dyrdahl are both doing well. Lorna lives in California and Donna lives in Choteau, I think. They were classmates in Malta with Loring roots. Also before Christmas I got a phone call from a long time digger friend from Chicago, Tykie Vaughn and Doris Hart, a friend of my mom's when they were in school at Loring. It's just amazing how touching base with some old friends lightens the heart!

Just a little update on my amaryllis, it has now produced a flower stalk with a swelling bud. I'm so excited for when it actually opens up. I know the color and what they look like but having it being so beautiful in my own home is wonderful! I have a feeling that it will bloom within the next couple of weeks, right in the deep part of January!

Loring Lutheran Church will have services at 9:00 on Sunday, January 13, with Orvin Solberg delivering the message, and on January 20, after which we'll have our annual meeting. Please attend to discuss the business of the church.

Until we run into each other at the local grocery, have good thoughts!
