The County of Phillips was buzzing with spelling bees last week as Dodson, Malta, Whitewater, and Saco all held school events in preparation for the County Spelling to be held in Malta on Wednesday, February 6 starting a 2:30 p.m.


At the Saco School Spelling Bee, eighth-grader Teegan Erickson was crowned champ after successfully spelling "worship" and "ensure" in the eighth round of the event, topping Abby Yeska who took second place. Erickson and Yeska will head to County Bee next week with classmates Jocelyn Brown, Marshall Caves, and Carter Pippin and alternates Laynee Simpson...
