Free Workshops in February from Malta Area Chamber of Commerce and Triangle Communications

Four separate workshops will be offered in Malta for individuals and business entities to learn more about technology as follows:
Bring Your Own Gadget- Tuesday, February 5th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Malta Business Center. Participants will receive personal, hands on assistance with your “gadget” including tablets, readers, cell phones, headphones, smart speakers, etc. from Triangle specialists. All participants are encouraged to bring their own gadget (along with appropriate passwords if you need help setting up new device.)
Social Media for Beginners- Tuesday, February 5th from 7:00 to 8:00 PM at the Malta Business Center. Participants will learn the basics of social media including setting and understanding accounts, shortcuts and scheduling for Facebook, twitter, Pinterest, and other social media platforms.
Basic Computers and Email- Tuesday, February 26th from 4:00 to 5:00 PM at Malta High School Computer lab (use the south entrance). Participants will learn basic functions of a computer including startup and shutdown, search engines, using windows & tabs, setting up and using email and more. If you have a “fear” of computers, this workshop is for you.
Internet Security & File Sharing- Tuesday, February 26th from 5:30 to 6:30 PM at the Malta High School Computer Lab – If you use any online platforms and want to better understand security in conjunction with sharing and storing files (including documents and photos) online or in a “cloud”, this workshop is for you. Participants will learn about firewalls, security software, password protection, and more. This workshop will be of interest to businesses with employees who work online, have multiple accounts and share files internally or externally.
