Donald Bradley Lynn

MALTA-Donald Bradley Lynn, age 66, passed peacefully with his family by his side on February 12, 2019 at 11:30 p.m. at the Billings Clinic.

Memorial Services were Monday, February 18th, at Kirkwood Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Kent Gordon officiating. Lunch followed the service at the Little White Church. Condolences for the family may be left at http://www.kirkwoodfuneralhome.com.

Donnie was born January 24th, 1953, at Culver City Hospital in California, to Arthur Lewis Lynn and Shirley Louise Lyle. He received his early education at First Lutheran School in Venice, graduating from Venice High School, attended Humboldt State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Biology. A sports fan at an early age, he attended as many Dodger's baseball games as he could. He also played a variety of sports throughout his life, culminat-ing in his baseball career with the Redding Cementers and an offer to play professionally for the Montreal Expos. It was an offer he ultimately turned down to finish college and move to Montana. Having grown up hunting and fishing with his father and black labs, Montana seemed ideal.

Shortly after moving to Montana, he met the woman he would marry just a few years later. He married Pam Score on July 31st, 1981, at the Little White Church, and they made their home in Malta, Mont. They had two daughters together, Stephanie and Shannon, whom he was very proud of. Donnie and Pam took a very active interest in raising their daughters —often volunteering time and labor to running summer sports programs and coaching. He loved coaching and tried to impart the same love of sports and sportsmanship to the kids he coached. Most recently, his love of surfing as a child and the involvement of his daughters inspired him to coach swim team.

Sports were such a central part of Donnie's life that he became the first Recreation Director for an entirely new program in Malta. He started or helped to direct leagues for baseball, basketball, gymnastics, dance, tennis, flag football, weight lifting, and others. He ran and operated his own business, Montana Breaks Outfitting, for about 20 years. Donnie also enjoyed traveling, usually to the beach, and he never met a stranger, often finding himself in engaging conversations with long-time friends, family, and new acquaintances.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years Pam Lynn, daughters Stephanie Lynn and Shannon (CJ) Schock, mother Shirley Lynn, brother Michael (Nicole) Lynn of California, mother-in-law Clarabel Score, brothers/sisters-in-law Peter (MaryAnne) Score, Pat (Barb) Score, Paula (Dennis) Ost, and Paul (Marie) Score, many nieces and nephews, and his cat "the golden-boy" Charlie.

He was preceded in death by his father Arthur Lynn and father-in-law Peter Score.
