One Nation, Under God

Dodson News for March 27, 2019

Matt Cole of Billings brought Wink and Terri Cole home on Monday, staying with them overnight before returning to Billings. On Tuesday Mary Cole of Helena came to stay with her parents and help for a while. Teri has been seen out walking again, first with the help of her kids and then alone.

There were quite a few at lunch at the Whapatau Center on Wednesday. It was such a warm day — little water and lots of mud being seen everywhere. The weather has certainly changed — it is sunshine and warmth every day.

Teri Leys and grandson, Roper, returned to Choteau on Sunday evening after staying with Dora Henry several days.

Polly Solberg was in Malta on Wednesday and had Congregate lunch with Eva Bruckner at the G.N.

Polly and Dora Henry were in Malta on business on Friday afternoon.

There was a funeral service led by Melissa and Jackson Henry at the Catholic Church social room for the small baby girl, Riley Jane, of Nicholas Bear and Lucy Tarlton and granddaughter of Robert and Cathy Bear, former residents of Dodson, now living in Harlem. Many family members were in attendance and after the service, she was escorted to the Bear-Matte Cemetery off Route 8 on the reservation to be buried. Lunch was served at the social room following the burial.

As if we needed more moisture just now, it started raining early in the morning on Sunday and continued until about noon when it changed it's mind and turned to wet snow for most of the afternoon. After giving a good ground cover it started melting again so we had lots of water and MUD again. Let's hope we still get some of this moisture later when we need it again.

The community was saddened to hear of the deaths of "Doc" Curtis, well-known Vet doctor, and several others of our near community these past several days. Condolences are sent to all the families who have lost loved ones this month.

Birthday greetings are sent to everyone having a birthday and especially Carol Kienenberger, and Sandy Calk in our community. Anniversary congratulations to all having a wedding anniversary.

There is a difference between an open mind and a hole in the head.
