Tanner Anderson, Gary and Barb Anderson, and Carly Bishop at the United Country Convention in March, 2019. The Andersons and Bishop have recently combined realty forces in Phillips County.

By combining forces, Barb and Gary Anderson and Carly Bishop now have a combined 51 years of experience in the real estate industry and throw Shane and Tanner Anderson into the fold and that number shoots up past 60 years (granted, most of these years are notched on Gary's belt, but still.)

Earlier this month, Bishop and the Andersons combined their Phillips County real estate offices to fall under the umbrella of United Country Real Estate Northwest Realty & Auction, have moved the operation off of Highway 2 in Malta and into the now former Bishop Real Estate and Development office (located in the downtown Malta Business Center) and now boast a total of seven agents and an office administrator.

"Although it came as somewhat of a surprise to us, the timing seemed to be right! We are by no means retiring," Barb said. "Gary and Barb will still be in the real estate business, only now, Carly and Tanner will be our boss! Working with Carly over the past ten years or so in a cooperative way has always been a good experience and we admire her ethics and energy!"

By combining forces, United Country Real Estate Northwest Realty & Auction has Gary, Shane, and Tanner Anderson, Bishop, Mike Hammond, Signa Mikesell as agents and Kirsten Voegel as the office's administrator. Bishop said that conversations with her and the Andersons started back in January and escalated quickly before the sides decided to merge.

"We were able to attend the United Country convention in early March prior to the purchase to get a good feel for what the franchise has to offer," Bishop said. "I admit I was skeptical until I had the opportunity to meet the people that makeup United Country and that we would be working with as a franchise owner. I've never encountered a more down to earth, approachable group of people who wanted nothing more than to help us do and be our best. I was sold on the franchise after the convention and look forward to the resources we have in them. Experts on 1031 exchanges, legal and marketing experts, technology experts, all just a phone call away, and available to us any time. I am thrilled to have such an extensive network of experts and enjoy the fact that they are genuinely kind people truly invested in our success. "

Tanner, a fourth-generation rancher with deep roots in Phillips County where he lives with his wife Caitlin and together they raise their four children, said he is excited about the agency's future.

"I'm excited to see the performance of recreational/ag properties on a local, state and national level with the backing of Real Tree," Tanner said. "I'm excited for our company and team being able to be a service to our community's future. Thank you for all of the community's support so far and we look forward to serving you in the future."

Gary has been a real estate broker for 43 years and currently ranches in Phillips County. Carly has been a broker for three, and in real estate for eight, teaching elementary school prior to that. Shane Anderson has been an agent with Northwest Realty for 13 years and is a local Farmer's Union Insurance Agent. Mike Hammond also works with us as well as farming and ranching north of Whitewater. Signa Mikesell comes to us from western Montana, having made her home in Malta in 2015. She and her husband run a local welding/fabrication business. Clifford Merriman is new to real estate and has worked within the BLM and NRCS offices. He and his wife currently farm south of Malta.

"Northwest Realty with Gary as Broker has been in business since 1977, Barb said. "We have been in the office on Highway 2 since the early '90s. We joined United in 1991 and in 1993 we were the number one office. We have been honored to be in the Top 10-percent of over 600 offices nationwide for over 28 years and are looking forward to sharing our success together with our new team!"
