District 12 Music Festival in Malta April 12 & 13

Over 300 students will be in Malta for the District 12 Music Festival at Malta High School on Friday and Saturday, April 12 and 13, and those students who receives 1-scores will qualify for State Music Festival at Senior High in Billings on May 3 and 4. Events in Malta will start at 8 a.m. and go until 6 p.m. on Friday at Malta High School and on Saturday events begin at 9 a.m.

Friday’s events include Bands, Choirs, Swing Choirs, Jazz Bands, and Percussion. Saturday includes solos and duets - instrumental and vocal. The public is invited both days’ events at no charge.

Adjudicators for the events will be Tony Hammond, Billings, Vocal/Instrumental; Erin Small, Billings, Vocal; Jim Bratvold, Big Timber, Vocal and Piano; John Novotny, Big Timber, Instrumental and Jazz, and Michel Sticka, Bozeman, Instrumental.

District 12 Directors will be: Big Sandy: Amanda Robertsona and Susan Walker; Glasgow, Band: Brad Persinger and Vocal: Maureen Leech; Hinsdale, Jenna Johnson; Lustre Christian and Michael Butler; Malta, Band: Erik Engebretson and Vocal: Nancy Murdock; Nashua, Michelle Mickelson; Opheim, Cindy Fouhy; Poplar, Jonathan Brooks; Saco, Chris Pippin; Whitewater, Miriam Sanguins and Wolf Point, Lynne Monson.
