Candidates wanting to file as Council Members for the City of Malta, Town of Dodson or Town of Saco may obtain the required forms and fee information from the Phillips County Election Office located in the Courthouse at 314 S 2nd Ave West or by calling 406-654-2423. Malta, Dodson and Saco each have two Council Member positions available. The first day to file will be Thursday, April 18, 2019. Any person, who is a registered voter in Phillips County and resides within the city limits and ward, may file up until the close of filing at 5:00 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2019.

NOTICE OF ANNUAL ELECTION

Notice is hereby given by the undersigned Clerk of Saco School District No. 12 A & B, Phillips County, State of Montana that the Annual School Election will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2019.

Electors will consider the following issue at the election:

• Saco High School Mill Levy

This election is by mail ballot only- regular polling places will not be open. Ballots must be received at the election office by 8 pm on Election Day.

The place of deposit and the days and times when ballots may be returned to the place of deposit before election day and on election day are:

Between noon and the close of business on the date before Election Day, you may complete and submit a voter registration cards, but you will need to return to the district voting location on Election Day to pick up and vote a ballot. WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of Saco School District No. 12 A & B, Phillips County, State of Montana, have received nominating petitions and write-in intent declarations equal to the number of positions to be elected, and there is no other reason for the Trustee election.

THEREFORE, the regular Trustee Election will not be held and the necessary thirty (30) day Notice of Cancellation has been made.

BE IT RESOLVED, that Trustee candidates Larry Ross Simpson is hereby elected by acclamation for three-year terms and Joey Newby is hereby elected by acclamation for a two-year term to the Board of Trustees of Saco School District No. 12A & B.

The Phillips County has received notice of the award of Community Development Block Grant funds from the Montana Department of Commerce. Malta Opportunities Inc., will soon commence implementation of a Remodel/Upgrade Malta Opportunities, Inc. project.

CDBG regulations governing the grant require that to the greatest extent feasible, opportunities for training and employment arising in connection with this

CDBG-assisted project will be extended to local lower-income residents. Further, to the greatest extent feasible, business concerns located in or substantially owned by residents of the project area will be utilized.
