Adult Prom fundraiser for pool set for April 27

Are you the best dancer in town?

Is that your opinion or is it also the opinion of your peers?

On Saturday, April 27, lace up those dancing shoes, grab your favorite guy or gal, and head down to the Hi-Line Future Foundation’s “Timeless Adult Prom” to cut a rug and maybe win yourself the Prom’s “Best Dancer Award” or perhaps be crowned 2019 Prom King and Queen.

The Hi-Line Future Foundation (HLFF) was formed in August of 2016 and since that time has raised nearly $72,000 to assist the City of Malta with the costs of refurbishing the Municipal Pool. The HLFF have hosted their annual Brew Fest and other fundraising events since forming and at the end of April will host their first Adult Prom at the Lucky Bullet and, if all goes well, hope to make the event an annual occurrence.

“We hope to see most of the community out there,” HLFF Secretary Mary Oxarart told the PCN. “We have had a positive response. We are only selling tickets at the door to reduce our overhead prices. Hopefully, it will be a good night to have everyone come out and support the Hi-line Future Foundation.”

Oxarart said there have been adult proms in Phillips County in the past and the HLFF felt now is the time to bring the event back on a night that will feature awards for Tackiest Couple, Classiest Couple, Best Era, Best Dancer, and, of course, a Queen and King.

Tickets for the event are $15 for singles, $20 for couples and the night will include dancing, prom pictures, and prizes. For more information on the prom or to donate items, people are encouraged to contact Oxarart and the HLFF by mail at PO Box 514, Malta, MT, 59538, email at [email protected] or on Facebook.
