PC Conservation District to host 'Soil Health on the Range' workshop on April 24 in Malta

Phillips Conservation District will be hosting a “Soil Health on the Range” workshop on Wednesday, April 24th at the library basement from 6-8 p.m. Soil Health Educator, Patti Armbrister will be presenting. This interactive workshop will offer a basic understanding of soil health principles and advice on how to improve water holding abilities and how to increase plant diversity on your rangeland. Patti will discuss simple ways to reduce costs and increase range production. This workshop is part of a “Soil Health Series” that Phillips Conservation District and Patti Armbrister are offering, free of charge to those interested in learning about soil health. These workshops were made possible through a soil health grant through McCone Conservation District.

The next workshop in the series will be “Soil Health and Composting” and will take place on May 15th at the library basement from 6-8 p.m. Future soil health workshops to be held in Malta will focus on soil health on the farm, soil health on your ranch and an outdoor class, along with two follow-up workshops later in the year. Agendas and dates to be announced. Please call Jenifer Anderson, District Administrator, at 654-4262, or Shilo Messerly, Malta NRCS 654-1334 with any questions.
