$5,100 in grants announced for local projects by the Phillips County Community Foundation

The Phillips County Community Foundation (PCCF) is pleased to announce recipients in the biannual grant cycle and invite all to accept their checks on Thursday, May 2nd at their Annual Meeting at 7:00 PM in the Lodge Room of the Great Northern Hotel in Malta (location to be finalized.)

PCCF Board of Directors received nine applications for grant assistance exceeding $21,000 and were able to fund six requests totaling $5,100. PCCF Board President Anne Boothe noted, “we need to continue to build our endowment so we can continue to fund all needs and fund these great efforts at a higher level, it’s sad to turn worthy applicants down.”

2018/2019 Awardees include:

$850.00 Hi-Line Retirement Center to assist with the purchase of a new electric bed with mattress.

$250.00 Malta Chamber to fund materials and supplies for the upcoming Farmers Markets

$2,000.00 PC Ambulance (with PC Hospital) endorsement to assist in providing “Paid On-call Services” while maintaining and improving essential services to the community.

$500.00 Malta Senior Citizens to assist with facility improvements that includes new windows and other efficiencies.

$1,000.00 PC Stagecoach Restoration Project – to assist in restoring the historic “mud wagon” stagecoach once used in Phillips County.

$500.00 HiLine Futures Foundation and their effort to raise funds for swimming pool upgrades and renovations.

Additional funds recently disbursed to managed funds from the Montana Community Foundation, a partner of PCCF include: Phillips County Rural Fire Department, Malta Senior Center/Food Bank, Saco Methodist Church, Phillips County Historical Society and the Little White Church.

Everyone is invited to help the Community Foundation celebrate Phillips County with these awards and learn more about continued efforts to build community savings account for our community at our annual meeting on May 2nd. Together, we’ll watch a two-minute video on What is a Community Foundation and distribute award checks. We will also acknowledge and thank contributors to our local endowment. All grant recipients are required to have a representative of their organization attend the May 2nd meeting in person to receive their check.

Current board members include Anne Boothe, Cheri Doll, Terry Skones, Carol Kienenberger, Julianne Snedigar, Vicki Eggebrecht and Sally Salveson.
