One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News and Opinion for May 8, 2019

It’s May! Happy birthday to all celebrating birthdays and anniversaries, and Mother’s Day.

April was a busy month in Whitewater. There was a carnival at Penguin Hall at Whitewater School and there were many games for the children; also Bingo for adults. I played and won homemade cookies. Lunch was homemade pizza. Always fun.

There was a junior high track meet in Whitewater on April 25. The children all did well in spite of the wind. A hamburger picnic was had at the meet.

Sunday, 4-28, was Polka Sunday at Whitewater Lutheran Church. Nancy Murdock and Mr. Engebretson played lovely church music for us, Polka style.

There was a Style Show in Malta on April 28. Several people from Whitewater attended, and some modeled clothes, including some children.

Whitewater School had a wonderful music concert, directed by Marian Sanguins, on April 29. Cupcakes were served following the concert.

At these recent events held in Whitewater, I noticed new families with children. Welcome to them all. Many of the parents are employed by local ranchers. If anyone has news, call me at 674-5576 in Whitewater.

Action for Eastern Montana representative Lisa was a guest speaker recently at Senior Meals at the North 40. She discussed Medicare and Medicaid and other helpful programs. Her number is 1-800-227-0703.

KMMR said that Adam Hellie (of Whitewater) won some kind of John Deere award. Congrats to him

We in the Whitewater area had rain and snow and terrible cold winds on April 28. Now it has warmed up and the sun is out. Montana weather is always changing.

Farmers were planning on early seeding but will have to wait now.

Did everyone have a nice Easter? Whitewater Lutheran Church had service. A wonderful brunch was served and the children enjoyed the Easter Egg Hunt.

Enjoy the nice spring weather.

As Always,

Helen A.
