This morning at the Country Inn, I was eating breakfast and overheard a conversation about what to do with a recently deceased family member’s letters and postcards. A woman at the table voiced her opinion that “her great-grandkids don’t need to know those stories.” I couldn’t help but smile at that comment because I wondered if my great-grandfather, John Bruckner, had that conversation with his wife Ida, or if my grandparents, Laurin and Mary-Ellen, discussed what stories would be told about our family as they were moving to Billings.
