One Nation, Under God
6-5. Sympathy to the family of Craig Mangis.
Also, sympathy and prayers to Dixie Stordahl and family on the loss of Tom Stordahl, Loring, Mont. Dixie is our PCN Correspondent from Loring who retired from teaching at Whitewater in 2018.
The Whitewater Schools recently held their 8th grade graduation which included my favorite twins, Seth and Jonathon Seiwing. Others I knew who graduated were Patty and Steve Young’s grandchildren (I rode to the graduation with the Youngs.)
Still others I knew were Meisdalen’s daughter and Pat Allery’s grandson. Congrats to all of the 2019 graduates everywhere. (Note: Pat Allery was the wife of Ron Allery, former Phillips County doctor who was raised in Whitewater.)
Many people from the area, including myself, attended the Memorial Day Parade and BBQ in Malta at the VFW Club. Irene Wendalyn of Chinook was there. Whitewater’s own Fred Allery Sr. was an honored guest as he was in WW II. Fred lives on a ranch near the Whitewater Creek. His daughter, Marlene, and granddaughter Wanda live on the ranch as well. Hello to all of them.
Pastor Steve Haag of Hi-Line Apostolic Church, wife Sue, and the Nelson twins were in the café and we had a nice visit. The Haags lived in Whitewater for years. Sue is a CNA at the Phillips County Hospital now.
Before Memorial Day, my daughter Gale and I placed plants and flowers on family graves.
It is nice to remember those family members who are gone, but not forgotten.
Then I rode home with Sally Austin. Sally, like most farmers or ranchers, are really busy all summer.
It was a beautiful day here in Whitewater. The trees got a late start this spring but are now blooming. Birds will soon be nesting in our trees. Lovely.
6-12. Sympathy to flood victims in Missouri and Kansas, and sympathy to fire victims in Canada, especially my granddaughter, Sheila, in Edmonton where the smoke is terrible.
Happy birthday to all June birthdays and also happy anniversary to all married in June.
Recently I talked to Shirley Dunbar. She said She said, Orvin Solberg had visited her and the Murdocks. How nice.
Thanks to Steve and Patty Young for the beautiful plants. Also, the Hellie boys mowed my lawn. I appreciate it as do others.
Late congratulations to the Penguins track team, including Ms. Handly. Good job kids.
Since school is out, Whitewater is so quiet. Enjoy your vacation everyone.
Our professional travelers of Whitewater are Helen DePuydt who went to Alaska to see her daughter and Lu Besel who flew to Texas to see her son.
Jeanie Green went to a resort in Arizona. It is fantastic how people travel these days.
Welcome to Whitewater to two boys visiting from Tennessee. They are helping the Wishers with putting a new roof on their trailer. It looks good.
At present, Whitewater Baptist Church meets in Whitewater on Sunday and Wednesday Call Pastor Wisher for more information.
Recently I talked to my daughter Teresa in Swift Current. She said her granddaughter played basketball in Medicine Hat this year. She just celebrated her 13th birthday. Time flies.
Have a nice summer.
Helen A.
