One Nation, Under God

A joy of Summer time

Yeah, I quit for about five years. But when on the keto diet, it helps to have healthy snack options, which is why I dove right back into eating sunflower seeds.

I normally eat those jokers by the handful, with a spit cup at my desk. I can’t get enough of them.

I have tried almost every flavor that Phillips County stores have on hand and I have to say that like five years ago, David Jumbo BBQ is my favorite at the moment.

During this binge of sunflower seeds, I have also realized that I am not the man I used to be. David brand’s Jalapeno Hot Salsa flavor is way too hot for me! As one who used to douse habanero sauce on almost everything, I admit I can no longer handle really spicy food.

Some seeds that I have eaten have been too salty or not salty enough, but the seeds serve two purposes, they keep me awake and keep me focused. I guess eating sunflower seeds also stops me from wanting to eat a hamburger with the bun.

The other day I realized that I had eclipsed 70 pounds in my weight-loss journey. I also fit into size 36 jeans, which is awesome considering I was wearing size 42 last fall.

I even had an at-bat in softball. I rounded the bases and didn’t even break a sweat. My body feels better without all of the weight it was carrying. I hope to keep it up.

The boys are getting big. Lincoln thinks he is hilarious. And he is. He has his first running joke. He simply goes baba! Then I will say bah bah! He then follows it up by laughing!

I shot a video of him saying it. And now every time I whip out my phone, he automatically goes baba! I just wish I knew what he meant. It’s not bottle; for that, he uses a different cadence.
