Whitewater News and Opinion for July 27, 2019

Sympathy to Sue Olson and Clarie Stahl who attended the funeral of a friend’s little boy. He was a victim of a hit and run driver. Such a terrible tragedy. Sympathy to all of them. Please drive carefully, everyone.

There was a basketball camp at Whitewater School. Players from other towns attended and there were many from Whitewater including Rory and Summer Green.

Crazy days in Malta was fun. Some from Whitewater, including myself, went and shopped and ate. The Closet served a delicious lunch. Nancy LaBrie was the chief cook. There was also a pancake breakfast hosted by the hospital to benefit the Malta Kiwanis. Very nice.

There were many inflatable games for young and old and the children loved them.

Sunday the Lutheran Unity Churches — Whitewater and Malta — had a potluck with so much food. Many from Whitewater attended including me. Debbie Anderson and Patty Young gave me a ride back to Whitewater. Thank you very much.

There was a Vacation Bible School; this last week in our town for Unity Lutheran Churches. Margie Olson took Traxton Olson. Others were the two Anthony boys from Loring and others from Whitewater. It was fun and educational for the children.

Monika Taylor is flying to Virginia to visit her son Jeremiah and his family. How nice.

Swift Current, Sask., Canada has so much rain that “many residents and businesses have been flooded!” My daughter, Teresa, reported. She lives in Canada. Their weather is often like ours.

Whitewater farmers and ranchers have plenty of hay, and farmers are busy haying. Good work all of you.

Note: Fort Peck Theatre is open and showing many good programs. It is best to call ahead for tickets.

Enjoy the summer activities.

As always,

Helen A.
