Kimberlee Dawn Adkins

Kimberlee Dawn Adkins, 52, became an angel on July 5, 2019, finally ending her courageous battle with cancer.

Kimberlee was born August 17, 1966 in Havre, Mont., to Sidney and Merrimae Solberg. She was raised 12 miles north of Dodson, Mont., on the family ranch with younger sister Laura. Her favorite parts of her childhood were; spending time with her parents doing ranch work, riding horses, and helping take care of all the animals, and learning how to sew and cook.

Kimberlee graduated from Malta High School in 1984. Throughout her high school career; she was active in choir, FFA and 4-H. One memorable high school accomplishment was becoming Demolay Sweetheart and traveling with her mother to represent the Malta Demolay Chapter. She attended some college which started her journey of becoming the Post Mistress of Stockett Montana.

She often said: "My life began with the birth of my children." Kimberlee welcomed her first born Dane, in 1985. Six years later in 1991, she welcomed her first daughter, Sidnee followed quickly by Andreya in 1992. After spending time as a stay at home mother, she began her career with the United States Postal Service. Over the course of more than a decade she worked her way from PMR to Post Mistress of the 59480.

Kimberlee was looking for an adventure, and in 2011 she met the love of her life, Chris Adkins. They married in the winter of 2012, her family grew again. She welcomed his 3 children and many furry friends into her life. She decided this was the adventure she was looking for. Chris introduced her to the world of sled dogs following him into the "musher" lifestyle, loving every second. Whether it was sitting with expecting dog mamas, waiting for their babies, massaging the racers while resting at a checkpoint, stitching up wounds, or helping in the dog lot, she not only rose to the challenge, she mastered it.

In the summer of 2014, Kimberlee became "Dramma Timmi" to her first grandson, Huck. She stated: "Nothing in my life has prepared me for the joy of grandchildren." Over the next five years, Kimberlee welcomed Corbin, Nash, Easten, Cooper, and Everlee, she was so thrilled to be a part of their lives; even if only for a short while.

She was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Mac and Kitty McLeod, grandparents Albert and Olga Solberg, Hobe and Frankie Richmond, her uncles Harold, Norman, and Ingwald Solberg, Aunt Alice Solberg, and father-in-law Bob Ward.

She is survived by her loving husband Chris Adkins, her parents Sidney and Merrimae Solberg, sister Laura Solberg, her children Dane (Brittney) Turville, Sidnee (Travis) Hodgson, Andreya Pierson, Colter, Jeff (Brenna) and Katrina Adkins, nephew Michael Solberg, and mother-in-law Kaye Ward, and grandchildren Huck and Nash Turville, Corbin, Easten and Everlee Hodgson, and Cooper Adkins.

"She lived, she loved, she laughed, she left."
