One Nation, Under God

Loring New for July 31, 2019

Oh, the wonderful variation of weather in Montana! One day this week I'm sure the temperature was over 100 degrees, windy, and just miserable to me. But then the next day was in the low 80’s, still windy, but tolerable! And now this morning it was 47, no breeze and sunny! Just a tad chilly! I'm not complaining, I'm commenting about the lovely changing weather!

The Loring Sunday Funday was another success! It was kinda windy for the water slides to begin with but then a place was found with some protection and they were a great attraction! The breeze was cooling on the wet skin! And the food was delicious!

Nancy Murdock joined Amanda Hendrix and me for Trivia at the Blue Ridge Brewery on Thursday evening! I actually won second on general trivia this time! The theme was beer and the brewery. Thank you!

Phillips County Fair is this weekend so many of the area residents are getting their fair tags filled out! I think I'll enter this year.

Amanda Hendrix and I drove to the Shindig in Ekalaka this Friday. It's a big party for paleontologists to discuss their newest research and ideas. We were all invited to a pitchfork fondue at the Castleberry Ranch on Friday evening. Cary Woodruff joined us from his two weeks of digging and we were all house guests of Betty and Jerry Cline! Betty was my maid of honor when Tom and I got married 49 years ago. It's always fun to see her! On Saturday we listened to talks about the different research, had a fantastic picnic lunch, looked at the museum exhibits and visited!

On Sunday, my crew from the GPDM started home. We did stop at the Carter County Museum, the Medicine Rocks State Park, the Chinese restaurant in Glendive, the KT Boundary so Amanda could check off touching the boundary on her bucket list. It was a great weekend! Ekalaka is a fair distance from Malta!

Don't forget this is the time of year to see meteor showers if you are out after dark! Until next time count your blessings!
