'Bursting in Blooms' flower show blooms at 104th PC Fair

"Bursting in Blooms", a patriotic-themed standard flower show presented by the Malta Dirt Daubers Garden Club was recently held in conjunction with the Phillips County Fair.

A total of 272 entries were made by 60 entrants in the Horticulture Category with Cindi Salveson receiving the Horticulture Excellence award for her outstanding red Maltese Cross flower entry. Toni Ziegler received the Sweepstakes Award and Kathy Waters took home the Award of Merit.

A total of 60 entries were made by 19 entrants in the Design Category. The following special awards were made in each category,

Jane Ereaux presented well in many design categories and was presented the Petite Award, Designers Choice Award and Tri-Color Award. Jane also was presented the Education Award for her display explaining key elements of miniature design.

Botanical Arts, Artistic Crafts Award went to Anne Boothe for a fresh wreath design and 10-year-old Emma Ereaux won the Botanical Arts Garden Award with her dish garden.

The Youth design category had 61 entries with 34 entrants. These were the overall winners. Youth Award, Up to 8 years old- Maria Meneely, Youth Award. 9 to 12 years old-Kassidy Modic, Youth Award, 13 to 16 years old-Jacob Komis-Stark

Adult category exhibitors included: Marlys Stiles, Twilla Johannesen, Sarah Osmundson, Judy Green, Jeannie Green and 19 Malta Dirt Dauber Garden Club Member including-Sharon Miller, Jane Ereaux, Hillary Maxwell, Anne Boothe, Toni Ziegler, Terry Hotchkiss, Dina Meneely, Wilma Mavencamp, Dana Sue Rogers, Kathy Waters, Rosemary Veseth, Jennifer Strzelczyk

Overall, there were a total of 114 entrants, 393 entries. Special thanks to all who participated and stopped in to view all the entries.
