Doreene A. Squires Dale

Doreene A. Squires Dale passed away at the Phillips County Hospital on Monday, September 30, 2019 of breast cancer.

Doreene was born in Glasgow, Mont. on August 21, 1947 to George and Martha (Scheffelmaer) Squires. She was raised in Saco with a sister and two brothers and graduated from Saco High School in 1965. She was proud of being a Saco Panther. She then went on to Billings Business College. She later worked at the Glasgow Air Base for AVCO. After leaving Glasgow she moved to Malta. While in Glasgow she met the love of her life Richard (Dick) Dale. They were married on Nov. 4, 1974 (Election Day) in Kamiah, Idaho and were married for nearly 44 years. She began a career as a dispatcher for the Malta PD in 1975 and continued as dispatcher for 17 years. In 1992 she started a new career with her husband at Dick's NAPA Auto & Farm Supply. They started the store in 1984, bought the Mercantile Building in 1994, and after 30 years retired in 2014. She was then on to her next journey, a new house.

Doreene volunteered in a variety of activities from Kiwanis BUG program to baking cookies, cakes, candies, rolls, and bread for different activities such as the election board, Red Cross Blood Drive, and many silent auctions. She also baked and delivered her home baked treats to many older single people in our community. If there was a need, Doreene voluntered.

Doreene was preceeded in death by her parents, sister Duree, and brothers Gary and Roy. She is survived by her husband Dick and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials can be sent to the Great Falls Clinic Legacy Fund or charity of the giver's choice.

There will be Celebration of Life for Doreene on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019 at Malta Lutheran Church from 2 to 4 p.m. A family burial will be held at a later date.
