Ditmar, Solberg take Dodson Council seats; other positions in City/Town races uncontested

The only election in Phillips County last week was in the town of Dodson where Pat Ditmar and Polly Solberg were voted in as Town Council members where voter turnout was recorded at 53.7-percent.

A total of 29 votes were cast in the Town of Dodson’s non-partisan general election where voters were asked to pick two council members who will serve four-year terms. Those candidates were Frank “Skip” Cole, Ditmar, and Solberg. Ditmar received the most votes with 25, Solberg received 16, Cole received 13 and the total of under/over votes where three.

“I’d like to say thanks to everyone that voted, and I am honored and humbled to represent the town of Dodson,” Ditmar told the PCN. “I have been on the Town Council for a year and a half, it has been a learning experience, and I am looking forward to trying to better our little community of Dodson.”

Solberg retains her seat on the Town Council (Check) and she and Ditmar join Jessica Fetter and Caleb Best as council members and Teresa Cole is the town’s Mayor. (The latter three all ran unopposed in the 2018 general election.)

In Saco, Both Bill Haynes and Wayne Woodall ran unopposed and retain their seats on the Saco Town Council where they join Council members Roberta Christopherson and Wayne C. Stahl.

In Malta, William (Bill) Hicks, Ward 1, and James S. Sintler, Ward 2, also ran unopposed and retain their seats on the Malta City Council. Hicks and Sintler join Bonnie Wiederrick and David Rummel as Council members and John Demarais is Mayor.
