One Nation, Under God

Loring News for November 20, 2019

11-13. Greetings to all my readers and special thank you to the veterans past and present! Our freedoms are something that we take for granted, but these men and women have fought for them! Thank you!

Last week we had some snow on the ground, then on Friday it was all gone, but Saturday a northern wind blew in and we ended Sunday with about 4 new inches of fluff! But the clouds dissipated, and the moon shone brightly as the temperature dropped to negative numbers. Just a taste from Mother Nature to keep us wondering what is going to happen next!

I did spot a coyote as I was driving to Malta on Friday. It didn't look stressed yet!

I heard that Keira, Kiana, and Leslie Simonson were home over the weekend to help with shipping. Judy was relegated to the house since she is still recovering from her run in with an angry old cow!

Jay and Whitney Blunt and kids celebrated Troy Blunt’s 65 thbirthday in Malta on Saturday. All the kids were home which is a special occasion!

North Country Volleyballers participated in the divisional tournament in Sidney this past weekend. They have had a great season but lost out in three matches over there. Also, Beau Simonson and the Mustangs of Malta lost out to the Red Lodge Rams. They also had a decent season!

Debbie Hammond and I painted on Friday at her house. It was fun painting with someone and she did a great job!

Jeannie Schroeder, Saige, and Zoey Stordahl, and Brentton and Abby and Trevon all were visitors at Rod Stordahl’s and Gramma Dixie’s over the weekend. Brent and Abby picked up their car that Rod had fixed and the rest of the group attended the movie in Malta.

I see my sharptail grouse are coming in to see if my trees have any morsels of food. I still have a hawk or two hanging around, too.

I watched the transit of Mercury in front of the sun for a while on a site on the Internet. It moves so slowly, apparently, it seems slow.

Always tell your loved ones you love them; your time is not always measured.

11-20. Greetings, only six more weeks left of this decade! How fast time flies! We had a good snowstorm on Sunday and then the warmer weather came in and basically cleared it off on Saturday! I see a crow has taken up residence in my trees, which has never happened before! Maybe I do need a dog! Nah!

Whitewater music students entertained us with a patriotic program on Monday.

Tina Russel, Paula Morrison, Mindy Perdue, Kailyn Lucas and I all tried our hands at making a burlap wreath on Saturday. About 20 people attended the event at the Tin Cup and every single wreath turned out great!!

The quilters had a workday in Malta at the quilt shop. I say day, but I think it was more like a weekend! I heard some reports about their progress on the individual quilts.

Loring Women's Club is at Amy Simonson's on Wednesday. Remember don't kiss a crab!
