Dorothy M. Christensen

Dorothy M. Christensen, 94, passed away January 10, 2020, at Hi-Line Retirement Center in Malta, Mont., of natural causes. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Malta Lutheran Church.

Dorothy was born April 19, 1925, to William and Olga Bergerson Agard Armstrong. She graduated from Malta High School in 1943. After graduation she went to a trade school for Air-traffic control. She used this information while working in Chicago, Ill., Detroit, Mich., and other places. After the war ended, she returned to Malta.

In 1951 she met O.W. (Christy) Christensen and they married June 14, 1952. Together they owned and operated Christy's Music until they sold the business in August, 1987.

After selling the business Dorothy and Christy spent their summers at Echo Lake and their winters in Palm Springs, Calif. After Christy's passing, Dorothy spent her summers in Malta and Echo Lake and still went south for the winters until 2014 when she returned to Malta for good.

Dorothy is survived by her son Brian (Klige) and Belinda Christensen of Helena, daughters Myrna and Larry Trompke of Riverton, Wyo., Kari Christensen of Helena and Suzie and Virgil Abrahamson of Malta, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Christy, her parents William and Olga Armstrong; siblings Roland Agard, Blanche Argard Deo Matovich and Frances Armstrong Slade; and grandson Lawrence Trompke, Ill.
