Tentative plan calls for ’45 county fair
There will be a Phillips County Fair in Dodson August 18-through-20, unless government restrictions increase, according to word brought back to Phillips County by Edgar Lee, president of the Fair Board.
While only tentative plans have been made, several attractions have been booked, a loudspeaker system contracted, bids have been received from a carnival and plans are underway to put on a rodeo. Horse racing will be out this year under present government restrictions. As usual, efforts are being made to get the best possible entertainment.
The war situation and transportation regulations will provide the final decisions on county fairs in Montana.

Two fire calls to same location
The Malta Volunteer Fire Department answered two fire calls Tuesday morning, both to the same location in the Palace Apartments.
The first fire was caused by an electric-range smoking. This was taken care of and several hours later another small fire broke out in the wiring of an overheated light fixture in the same apartment. The earlier fire had evidently caused the later short.
