Phillips County graduates earn accolades, one degree

Recent press releases from colleges and universities announced some achievements by Phillips County students.

In Helena, Malta’s Taylor Eggebrecht was named to the Dean’s List at Carroll College for the Fall 2019 semester with a GPA of 3.94. Taylor was a graduate of the Class of 2019 at Malta and is the daughter of Brian and Vicki Eggebrecht. She is double-majoring in Political Science and Accounting/Finance and minoring in International Relations and Business Administration.

At the University of Mary in Bismarck, N.D., Malta’s Tyson Carney and Cru Darrah were two of the 843 students named to the school’s Fall Semester Dean’s List.

To qualify for the honor, traditional undergraduate students must earn a 3.50 or better grade point average while carrying at least 12 credit hours. Students enrolled in the UMaryOnline program must earn a 3.50 or better grade point average while at a full-time adult learner status.

At the Montana State University-Northern in Havre, Mont., a total of six Phillips County students made the Fall semester Dean’s List, a list that contains 395 students.

In Malta, Kendall C. Koss, Kristi N. Granlund, Markelle L. Lett and Shelby L. Brookie all made the Dean’s List, as did Saco’s Nate J. Costin and Whitewater’s Isabella G. Lawless.

To be included in the Dean’s List, students must carry a minimum of 12 credits and earn a grade point average of 3.25 or better.

As for students finishing earning college degrees this fall, 2019, Malta’s Kaitlyn Rae Smith earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from North Dakota State University in Fargo, N.D. She was one of 1,034 students to earn her degree at NDSU following the fall semester.

Smith is the daughter of Shonna and Earl Smith of Malta.
