MOI holds grand reopening in Malta

Nearly 60 people filed into Malta Opportunities Inc. (MOI) last Wednesday afternoon to help celebrate the grand reopening of their building in Malta - which includes an update laundromat, new thrift store, and drop off area around back - and perhaps none were as excited as Selina Davis, a client who works at MOI.

"I love it," Davis said of the new and improved building. "My grandmother, Anne Henderson, helped start MOI and this building was partly named after her...she would have loved it."

Davis was joined at the event by her mother, Mary Sue Davis, nearly 20 MOI Clients and support staff, members of the Malta Area Chamber of Commerce and MOI Board of Directors members who were each gifted a picture of themselves with the clients they represent.

"We are thrilled to have this chance to open our doors to the community, to show off this beautiful building, who we are and what we do," Dina Sainato-Meneely, MOI Executive Director, said. "Four years of planning and working by the County, Bear Paw Development, BDA Architecture, and MOI Board and Employees to make this project a reality."

MOI serves 17 clients and employs over 20 staff and Sainato-Meneely said each is happy with the building's new look.

"At the end of the day, we exist to serve our clients, providing them the skills, experiences, and assistance to live their most fulfilling lives," she said. "This building gives them a place to do just that."

"All the new light and all the great pictures hanging all over the place are great too," Davis added.
