Walleyes turn out after plea made for assistance

When long-time Malta Walleyes Unlimited member and current Malta Mayor John Demarais entered the special monthly Walleye meeting at Stretch’s Pizza the second to last day of February, he thought it may be the last Malta Walleyes Unlimited meeting ever.

“There was only about three people there and I was pretty scared,” Mayor Demarais said. “But as the night went on, we had about 25 members show up, we had some major discussions and we had some people step up. Malta is Malta though. When you call for help, people show up.”
