COVID-19 update from PC Health Department

On Friday, March 20th, Montana Governor Steve Bullock mandated closure of all bars, casinos, restaurants, breweries, theatres, pools, and gyms along with previously mandated school closures. Restaurants are still able to offer delivery, pick-up and curbside services.

Phillips County Health Department has been receiving numerous phone calls regarding social distancing. It’s very important that everyone stay at home as much as possible and only leave your house for life-sustaining services such as groceries or prescriptions. Children getting together for sleepovers, play dates or gatherings of any size are strongly discouraged.

Currently, there are no positive cases of COVID-19 in Phillips County, however, testing is occurring, and medical quarantines have been mandated. These individuals under medical quarantine were tested because they were either in direct contact with a positive COVID-19 case or have had a travel history with appropriate symptoms that warranted testing.

If you think you have been exposed to COVID-19 and develop a fever, cough or difficulty breathing, call your healthcare provider for medical advice. It’s important to know you should seek medical attention but CALL FIRST. If you’d like to speak with a Montana epidemiologist or public health nurse for advice regarding COVID-19, you can call the hotline number at 1-888-333-0461.

Currently, Phillips County Health Department is closed to the public and is not offering any services at this time. You can call the office at 654-2521 for any questions or concerns.
