One Nation, Under God

Loring News for March 25, 2020

Even with this horrible coronavirus making life different for most of us, it is reassuring that nature's cycles are right on target! Yes, the moon continues to go from new, crescent, half, gibbous, and full and the back again! The sun is traveling north, temps are warmer, migrating birds are returning to their summer range, and soon the prairies will be colorful with grass and wildflowers!

The birds that I've seen this week are lots of Hawks, bald eagles (four), snowy owl, yes, it's still here. Also, the Bohemian waxwings have been reported in some of the juniper bushes and Russian olives, and a Robin at the little puddles in the driveway!

I enjoyed lunch with the senior citizens in Whitewater. It was fun getting together with some people I don't normally see. But now that is a thing of the past, too, until we are cleared of the dreaded coronavirus! You all take care, and I'll see you later when it's cleared!

Jeannie Schroeder and girls drove up again this weekend, just to get out of the city. I'm not sure how this will eventually turn out!

I'm sending greetings to the people in the Hi-Line Retirement Center! I was painting postcards for people who might need a show of caring, but now I was told not to mail them due to the virus. This too shall pass.

I am happy to report that some of our snowbirds are returning from Arizona! Even though we can't get together, know that you are welcome home!

I'd also like to thank those people who continue to work at keeping us safe and fed! You guys rock!
